Kentfield is an upscale neighborhood located in the hills between Larkspur, Ross and San Rafael. The majority of homes are set back from the road among pine, redwood and manzanita trees. With few sidewalks, meandering streets and wooded areas, Kentfield has a warm, country feeling, in the Kent Woodlands area. Kentfield is home to families with homes on larger lots than typically found in other areas of Southern Marin. The weather is warmer here from May to September as the maritime fog seldom stays for more than a few hours in the early mornings. Summertime is characterized by long warm afternoons and many homes have pools.

Kentfield’s public schools, Anthony G. Bacich Elementary (K-4) and A.E. Kent Middle School (5-8) are ranked in the 99th percentile and both are supported by a Kentfield School Foundation as well as a tight-knit PTA. Both schools have been noted as California Distinguished schools for outstanding academic performance. Bacich is a driving force in many Kentfield and Greenbrae home buyers decision making- both of which are served by the school district.

The slopes of Mount Tamalpias are nearby giving locals access to world class hiking, biking, and nature watching. The Larkspur Ferry Terminal is a close and a great option for commuting to San Francisco.

Kentfield is central to Ross, Fairfax, San Anselmo, San Rafael, Corte Madera and Larkspur and several minutes farther from Mill Valley, Tiburon, and Sausalito giving families choices for activities, shopping, restaurants and a plethora of outdoor activities.

The majority of the City Services are provided by the City of Larkspur and the County of Marin (Civic Center in San Rafael).
